| This place sucks! | |
| I am a native of West Seattle and this is the kind of place west seattlites avoid! The people arw pretentious and the waitstaff is just plain rude!Avoid at all costs! |

| I've been to West 5 many a times. I like the decor, the atmosphere, the bathrooms and the cozy yellow chairs that are on casters. The food can be pretty good and I love the fact that there are many vegetarian options; however I think the prices are high relative to the quality of the food. I haven't had a margarita there in a long time because they're not very good. The servers are aloof, which really kind of ticks me off. It's not that they're unfriendly, but they're not friendly either. They always have the attitude that they'd rather be somewhere else other than work. I wish they'd shape up and smile and say hello and act friendly. There is an older bartender woman who works in the afternoons who is the neatest lady and I'm always happy when she's pouring me a Guinness or serving me. Also, this place isn't the best for groups however. There's only one table that can seat six people comfortably. All the other tables seat four and two. |

| Not my favorite place... | |
| I have given this place three chances. I really wanted to like it. It seemed like a fun place that would liven up California Ave. But each time I went there the service was HORRIBLE!!! The waitstaff was blatantly rude and condescending to my friends and me all three times! I gave them one star for their food. The meatloaf was good, but something I could have made at home. |

| I agree with 26 yo female below. It's a bunch of wanna-be's with some major attitude. And, the funny thing is that they don't even look good....they just try to act cool. They can just all kiss off -- they'll all be trolls someday, anyway. Sorry, but my vote is the mac and cheese is a disaster. |

| Can you say....trendy? | |
| I don't think I'll ever go back after reading the stupid little menu card on their table that advertised beer and food. There were some low carb choices and in bold letters next to them it said, "CAN YOU SAY ATKINS?"
Man did that make me just want to just punch somebody in the mouth...I didn't though because I'm not really a violent person or a jerk. You either understand or you don't..And if you don't, you'd probably like West 5.
I give them 3 stars for their mac and cheese, which was pretty good. The waiter was pretty nice too. Thanks for listening. |

| Great...if you're pretentious and like pickup | |
| Great place to go if you are looking for a one night stand or are a snob living in West Seattle. The place is for hipster-wanna-be's and you can't get through five minutes of your night without some drunk coming up and wanting to invite you home. Of course, some people like places like that. Make sure to look nice - everyone gets really spiffed up to hang out here. |

| Great addition to West Seattle | |
| Definitely a place you need to try! West 5, from the 50's vintage telephone prefix, takes you back by its decor, but keeps in the present by offering a varied menu of tasty favorites including some delicious appetizers to go with some trendy martinis. There were so many appetizing choices on the menu, it was a difficult decision. We tried the day's special, a prime-rib sandwich served with a fluffy-cheesey-scalloped potato sidedish and carrots; a big serving for the price, and absolutely delicious. This is the perfect "meet me for a drink and/or dinner place." It will become a West Seattle favorite if it isn't already.
