Indifferent and arrogant
Put our name in for a table and received no recognition or comment at all, certainly not the slightest hint of greeting from the person who took it and then casually turned around and went back into the kitchen. After a bit, with us standing still in the front waiting, she emerged from the back, stopped to talk with some people on the way, got to the front, took up a menu, and then--again, wordless--assumed we would follow her to the one table among a number of empty tables she had finally decided we could have. I alerted her to the fact that we had been kept waiting without any explanation at all, that the reception was very unprofessional and rude and asked to speak with the owner. She responded very indignantly that "I'm the owner and you are the one who is rude; you had better leave." Angelina's is a place to go only if you need negative reenforcement. Awful!

What used to be
Dan (?) Mitchell runs great restaurants - evidence the Trattoria Mitchelli downtown and his short-lived Lake Union venture. Angelina's used to mimic downtown and it was good; something happened: they got away from peasant bread toast and home fries for breakfast - it destroyed the taste, spirit, and desire to go back. I still go downtown even though I live in west Seattle.

Not very Italian
As someone who has been to Italy numerous times, I can truely say: The food has not a lot to do with what you get in Italy. Really nothing came across as original. And it doesn't help that they serve their 5.50$ Pinot Grigio in a waterglass. The waitress was very nice, once she showed up (after 2min of waiting to be seated). The best thing I have to say about them is that the portions are good. Anyway, the experience reminded me, that I shouldn't just walk into place, because they look nice.... check out some reviews first.

Never Again......
Have been to the place many times over the years and have had enjoyable experiences. I understand the daughter of the original owner now runs it. She is the one with the poor attitude. You'll know who she is...... I will not return again. The spaghetti and meetballs were miserable. No taste...how do you get it wrong?? It is a staple.....Chef Boy Ardee (sp) would be rated 10X better what this #$%@ was. Our tab for 6 included an insulting extra charge for the cheese to sprinkle on our sub-par food. Glad we got it however.....the parmo was the best part of the meal for all of us probably because it wasn't made on site. Go anywhere else...trust me.

average italian food
I've eaten there several times, I'm never really impressed with their pasta sauces..Their standard breakfasts are pretty good though. The four stars is for the breakfast. For dinners, I think I'd give them 2 or 3 stars.

Looking for a casual lunch? Look elsewhere.
I stopped in with my girlfriend for a nice, casual lunch. The service was excellent, the atmosphere ambient, a little quiet. I ordered the chef's special, my girlfriend ordered nothing but spahgetti and meatless sauce. We also had dessert. The bill came to a whopping fifty-eight dollars, which is completely ridiculous for a two star italian restaurant. The chef's special was very delicious, but the spahgetti was revolting, the sauce tart and lacking spice. The desserts are good, but not excellent, and I would never again return to pay nearly sixty dollars for lunch for two people. next time I'll eat nothing but breadsticks.
